Shri Kaal Bhairav Chalisa in English

Bhairon Temple or Kilkaari Baba Bhairav Naath Mandir is a Hindu temple dedicated to diety Bharion. The architecture of this temple is purely North Indian in style. Bhairon Temple is the only temple where devotees offer alcohol to the deity. The origin of Bhairava can be traced to a conversation between Brahma and Vishnu which is recounted in the Shiva Mahapuranam. Normally in Shiva temples, idols of Bhairava are situated in the north facing, southern facing direction. Bhairava is an important deity of the Newars. Shri Kaal Bhairav Chalisa in English is a prayer and contains verses that praise the deity with devotion. All the traditional settlements of Newars have at least one temple of Bhairava. Bhairava is a fierce manifestation of Shiva. He is often depicted with frowning, angry eyes, sharp, tiger’s teeth and flaming hair. Brahma and Vishnu were disputing with each other for the status of supreme God and appealed to the testimony of the four Vedas, which proclaimed Rudra-Shiva as the Ultimate Truth of the Universe. The name Ujjain resonates with historical and religious connotations. The pilgrims who arrive here to worship Lord Mahakaleshwar, need to visit Kal Bhairav temple also. You will have to see this to believe this. The interesting thing about this temple is that the God is offered liquor unlike other temples to invoke divine blessings.
